Community Guidelines
Please realize that Fanmire is a diverse community and, while you may not necessarily agree with someone’s point of view, it may not be a violation of our Community Guidelines. That said, when you see a page on Fanmire that you feel violates our community guidelines, please take the time to report them via our reporting tool. One of our moderators will review the report and if our Community Guidelines have been violated, the case manager will contact the creator to let them know that they are outside these guidelines.
This is a commitment to creators. We know this is your livelihood. We invest heavily in making these decisions as fair and transparent as possible. We always want creators to feel like they have an open line of communication. So how does this translate to moderation? Our first reflex is always to try to educate creators to help them understand how a rule has been broken and how to remedy the issue. In cases where the violation is particularly bad or intentional we may take further action such as suspending or removing their account. In the most extreme cases we may ban a creator from using Fanmire.
Because you are raising funds on Fanmire, we may be held accountable for what you do with those funds, so we may also look at what you do with your membership off our platform. As a result when we talk about “On Fanmire,” it means the creations you are funding on and through Fanmire. When reviewing a page, we look at how creations are shared, where the page is linked to and where the traffic comes from. No matter what happens, we always give creators the opportunity to appeal a decision by contacting us and sending any relevant information they believe was not considered. We may not change our minds, but we will always listen.
Be open, respectful, and creative
These Community Guidelines exist to shape and guide Fanmire and the growing number of creators and communities using it. This is not about building an arbitrary framework of “right” or “wrong.” It’s about making Fanmire a place where diverse creators and their communities feel excited, supported, and happy to exist, while still allowing for different—and sometimes even conflicting—points of view.
These guidelines summarize a thorough, thoughtful, and living internal policy that we spent time thinking about and defining with guidance from community and safety experts. We’re proud of these guidelines because we believe they will help creators build a safe and supportive environment in which they can continue to create, share and build intimate and lasting relationships with their fan.
Bullying, Harassment, and Threats
We don’t allow bullying or harassment because we want Fanmire to feel like a safe place for our various communities. At the same time, we want people to be able to express themselves, be critical, and discuss controversial issues. We draw the line when it comes to harassing private figures, or taking any action that might affect people’s physical safety, regardless of whether these people are private or public figures.
Bullying and Harassment:
You cannot attempt to intimidate anyone, either directly or by using your influence over others. We treat real-life interactions more seriously than online interactions when analyzing whether a line has been crossed because it can be more threatening and lead to physical violence. When both sides engage in similar behavior, such as feuds between public figures, we are less likely to take action.
Threats:
Anyone on Fanmire should be able to express their opinion in a way that doesn’t threaten another person. In this respect, we take threats of violence very seriously. Any creator or fan threatening the well-being of an individual or group of people will be removed. This includes threatening behavior such as stalking or inciting others to commit violent acts.
If you are a victim of this behavior and feel that your personal safety is at risk, we suggest you contact your local law enforcement, in addition to reporting the behavior to us.
Hate Speech and Slurs:
We do not tolerate content that attacks or incites violence against an individual or a group of individuals on the basis of protected attributes. We do not allow content that includes hate speech, and we remove it from our platform. We also suspend or ban accounts that have multiple hate speech violations. We define hate speech as content that does or intends to attack, threaten, incite violence against, or dehumanize an individual or a group of individuals on the basis of protected attributes. We also do not allow content that verbally or physically threatens violence or depicts harm to an individual or a group based on any of those attributes. Race, Ethnicity, National origin, Religion, Caste, Sexual orientation, Sex, Gender, Gender identity, Serious disease or disability, or Immigration status.
Do not post content that dehumanizes or incites violence or hatred against individuals or groups, based on the attributes listed above, including but not limited to:
- claiming that they are physically or morally inferior
- calling for or justifying violence against them
- claiming that they are criminals
- referring negatively to them as animals, inanimate objects, or other non-human entities
- promoting or justifying exclusion, segregation, or discrimination against them
- Content that invokes non-consensual slurs
- Hateful ideology
Doxing:
We take a strong stance against doxing, which is sharing an individual’s private information or aggregating their public information for the purpose of intimidating them through harassment.
Nudity and Adult Content
Fanmire aims to be a family friendly space for fans of all types. Explicit and adult content is not allowed on Fanmire.
Nudity:
We take a strong stance against doxing, which is sharing an individual’s private information or aggregating their public information for the purpose of intimidating them through harassment.
Pornography and Sexual Services:
We don’t allow pornographic material or sexual services on Fanmire, which we define as displays of sexual acts or behavior such as masturbation or sexual intercourse on camera.
Offensive and Graphic Creations:
We understand that artists sometimes have to push boundaries to create thought provoking art so we don’t review offensive and graphic creations with strict black and white guidelines, instead we review them in the context of the whole creator page. However, we have zero tolerance when it comes to the glorification of sexual violence which includes bestiality, rape, and child exploitation (i.e., sexualized depiction of minors). This is true for illustrated, animated, or any other type of creations. Fanmire reserves the right to review and remove accounts that may violate this guideline.
Minor safety:
We are committed to child safety and have zero tolerance for predatory or grooming behavior toward minors. We do not allow content that depicts or disseminates child abuse, child nudity, or sexual exploitation of children in both digital and real world format, and we report such content to relevant legal authorities. We also do not allow content depicting minors engaged in delinquent behavior.
Users must meet minimum age requirements to use Fanmire (as stipulated in our Terms of Services). When underage account holders are identified, we remove their accounts from our platform and may direct them to a more appropriate app experience, if available in their region.
Nudity and sexual exploitation involving minors is not allowed
Nudity includes content that shows visible private parts. Sexual exploitation is any actual or attempted abuse of a position of vulnerability, power, or trust for sexual purposes.
Underage delinquent behavior is not allowed
Delinquent behavior includes but is not limited to the consumption or use of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco.
Child abuse is not allowed
Child abuse is defined as a person in power inflicting physical and/or psychological trauma on a minor. Physical abuse is an act that deliberately inflicts injury on a child’s body. Psychological abuse is berating a child with threats of either physical or sexual violence or via bully tactics.
Grooming behavior is not allowed
Grooming is an adult building an emotional relationship with a minor to gain their trust for the purposes of sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, or sexual trafficking.
Sexualization of minors is not allowed
We do not allow content that imposes sexuality on or sexually objectifies minors.
Violent and Graphic Content
We do not allow content that is excessively gruesome or shocking, especially that promotes or glorifies abject violence or suffering. We do allow exceptions for certain circumstances, for example, content that is newsworthy or meant to raise awareness about issues. When we identify a genuine risk of violence or threat to public safety, we ban the account and work with relevant legal authorities as necessary and when appropriate.

- Depictions of the slaughter of real animals
- Depictions of dismembered, mutilated, charred, or burned animal remains
- Depictions of animal cruelty
People Who Can’t Create on Fanmire
Because Fanmire empowers people financially, we restrict both the types of media and projects that can be funded on Fanmire, and also which people can and cannot receive funds through Fanmire. After creating a Fanmire page, any creator caught in the act or convicted of making credible violent threats, committing violent crimes, malicious doxing, coordinating nonviolent harm (such as fraud, money laundering and gambling), or encouraging others to do any of these activities may be banned from using Fanmire.
Politicians:
You cannot use Fanmire to fund your run for office or to fund the political campaigns of others.
Criminal or Harmful Past:
Any creator caught in the act or convicted of making credible violent threats, committing violent crimes, child abuse, malicious doxing, coordinating nonviolent harm (such as fraud, money laundering, and gambling), or encouraging others to do any of these activities, may be banned from using Fanmire.
Dangerous Organizations:
People with a dangerous criminal history or a known affiliation with violent or dangerous groups (including terrorist or cyber terrorist organizations, organized criminal groups, fraud, extortion, and violent hate groups), cannot receive funds through Fanmire, no matter the purpose or apparent intention of their Fanmire page.
You can discuss these groups on Fanmire but any creator praising or actively supporting these groups or their leaders won’t be allowed on Fanmire.
Harmful and Illegal Activities:
We don’t allow funds to be collected for anything that facilitates harmful or illegal activities. You cannot fund creations that advocate, threaten, or show you causing harm to yourself, other people or animals. In the same way, you cannot promote illegal activities such as property crime, distribution of illegal weapons, or drug manufacturing.
Self-harm:
We don’t allow any page that promotes or glorifies self-harm, such as pages that encourage self-injury, suicide, or an eating disorder. Examples include pages that glorify self-scarification or a pro-anorexia campaign. If we believe there’s a credible risk the creator will harm themselves, we will work with law enforcement when needed. However, we allow creations that promote awareness such as self-harm survival stories, especially if they have educational value.
If you or someone close to you might be in danger of hurting themselves, please contact local authorities or seek help: http://www.suicide.org/suicide-hotlines.html
Integrity and authenticity
Content that is intended to deceive or mislead any of our community members endangers our trust-based community. We do not allow such content on our platform. This includes activities such as spamming, impersonation, and disinformation campaigns. You can’t create fake pages or collect money for things you’re not actually doing.
Impersonation
We do not allow users to impersonate other individuals or organizations in order to deceive the public. When we confirm reports of impersonation, we remove the violating accounts. We do allow exceptions for parody, commentary, or fan accounts, as long as the account does not mislead others with regard to its identity or purpose on Fanmire.
Do not post: As another person or organization by using someone else’s name, biographical details, or profile picture in a misleading manner
Misleading Information
We do not permit misinformation that could cause harm to our community or the larger public. While we encourage our users to have respectful conversations about the subjects that matter to them, we remove misinformation that could cause harm to an individual’s health or wider public safety. We also remove content distributed by disinformation campaigns.
Do not post:
- Misinformation meant to incite fear, hate, or prejudice
- Misinformation that may cause harm to an individual’s health, such as misleading information about medical treatments
- Hoaxes, phishing attempts, or manipulated content meant to cause harm
- Content that misleads community members about elections or other civic processes
Intellectual Property
We encourage everyone to create and share original content. We do not allow users to publish or distribute content that infringes someone else’s intellectual property rights.
Do not post: Content that violates or infringes someone else’s copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
Spam
While it can be hard to grow a fan base, no one likes being spammed. Be creative and original, don’t post repetitive comments or send unwanted private messages to other members of the community. We also prohibit any attempts to manipulate platform mechanisms to increase interaction metrics.
These are some of the actions we consider to be spamming, which is prohibited on Fanmire:
- Don’t use Fanmire to release or link to malware or phishing schemes.
- Don’t make misleading posts to grow your fan page.
- Don’t post comments on other creators’ pages promoting your own page.
- Don’t send a large number of unsolicited private messages asking for support.
- Don’t use incorrect tagging in order to drive more search results.
- Promote artificial traffic generation services
- Operate multiple Fanmire accounts under false or fraudulent pretenses, including coordinated attempts to manufacture inauthentic activity, distribute commercial spam, or otherwise coordinate a scaled violation of Fanmire policies
When reviewing reports about spam, we will distinguish between commercial spam and friendly abuse such as legitimate creators spamming other creators’ pages. If we determine the spam is friendly abuse, the account will be flagged; repeat offenses will lead to full removal of the creator or fan page. Commercial spamming by an account that is not a legitimate creator will be removed from Fanmire.
Threats to Platform Security
In addition to the content and behavior outlined above, our policies prohibit activities that undermine the Fanmire service:
- Do not hack the Fanmire website, app, or associated networks, or bypass its measures to restrict users’ access
- Do not distribute files that contain viruses, Trojan horses, worms, logic bombs, or other materials that are malicious or harmful
- Do not modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile, or create any derivative products based on Fanmire, including any files, tables or documentation, nor attempt to regenerate any source code, algorithms, methods, or techniques embodied in Fanmire

Thank you for being a part of our vibrant community and working with us to maintain a safe space for all users. If you come across content or accounts that you believe may violate our Community Guidelines, please let us know so we can review and take appropriate action.
Fanmire Influencer accounts
The philosophy behind these guidelines also applies to influencers. While we believe that creators are best at managing their communities there are some instances a moderator will review reports for influencers’ behavior.
Creators report a fan’s post directly following these instructions. If you would like us to review the behavior of one of your fans we will keep the review confidential. The Trust and Safety team reviews reports around hate speech, harassment and solicitation very carefully and we will take action against a fan account if we find that they are in clear violation of these guidelines.
Please remember that we will not share any details related to what kind of action we might have taken against a fan’s account. Most importantly, if you feel unsafe because a fan is stalking or harassing you, you should always try to seek the help of your local law enforcement and contact the closest cyber crime unit as they will have the most tools and means to help. Fanmire will work closely with law enforcement when there is an investigation and if a law enforcement agency sends us a subpoena.
